The pick-up is always carried out as quickly as possible. The time depends on the type of vehicle, the upgrades chosen, the journey time and the traffic. Within Germany, pick-up takes about 60 minutes on average, depending on vehicle type and upgrades. You are also welcome to order a delivery far in advance.
Delivery is always done by the direct route. We are bound to keep the statutory driving and rest times, especially for long distances. We will be happy to estimate the desired transit time more precisely, taking into account the booked vehicle and the situation as regards the traffic and weather. As we do not offer intermediate storage as a matter of principle, we deliver direct with shorter transport distances.
Loading and unloading is basically the task of the loading and unloading point. For palletised goods, you can also book a vehicle with a lifting platform and pallet jack; the driver can then load and unload pallets without any outside help. After consultation and in individual cases, we can also offer you loading or unloading by hand. Your consignment is transported solely by direct delivery without any reloading or intermediate storage. Additional loads are possible. Direct delivery is the safest way to transport your goods. The risk of damage and delays is minimised by not using transhipment points. Furthermore, your goods can be tracked individually at all times. This means that you know where your goods are at any time and can, for example, change the delivery address or react in the event of delivery obstacles.
Basically no, unless you specify this. Depending on the type of goods to be transported, it would be easy to stack the goods. This reduces the required space a lot, especially in the case of cartons, and contributes to both cost savings and environmental protection.
A larger vehicle has been ordered for collection. Do I have to pay more now?
No – in the context of environmental protection and route planning it is sometimes ecologically better to use a larger vehicle. In this case, the freight price offered is still valid.
A smaller vehicle than order has appeared to pick up the goods. Do I have to pay less now?
No. In the context of environmental protection and route planning it is sometimes ecologically better to use a smaller vehicle as long as it can transport the goods registered. Occasionally, there are also vehicles with special dimensions which we don’t offer nationwide. In any event, the freight price offered is still valid.
Who will secure my goods on the vehicle?
The driver will secure the load according to your wishes or in the best possible way. This is done primarily with anti-slip mats and tension belts, which effectively fix your goods in place and protect them. Depending on the type of vehicle, other types of load securing are also possible.
Can I also insure my goods at a higher level?
Higher insurance is basically possible for most types of goods. The costs here depend on the desired value of goods, you can take out insurance during the order placement and also see the exact costs there. You are free to choose the amount. If the value of goods exceeds 250.000 € please contact us before or directly after placing the order (contact).
How are my goods insured?
Your goods are automatically insured at a rate of 8.33 SDR/kg according to ADSp [German Freight Forwarders’ Standard Terms and Conditions]. This corresponds to approximately €10 per kg of the gross weight of the goods. This insurance is automatically included with every shipment.
Is loading from the side possible?
This is possible with curtainsiders and lorries. All vehicles can also be loaded from the rear.
Is loading from above/by crane possible?
This is possible with lorries. Choose the Edscha upgrade (roof loading) for this purpose.
Will I be informed about the pick-up?
Yes, you will be automatically informed by e-mail about the successful pick-up.
Will I be informed about the delivery?
Yes, you will be automatically informed by e-mail about the successful delivery.
Can you notify your arrival?
Yes, notification of arrival by the driver is possible for an extra charge. Please contact us after placing your order.
I need a larger vehicle!
For the curtainsider, you can book an XXL upgrade to the dimensions of 480 cm x 220 cm x 240 cm and up to a 1,450 kg payload. We also offer larger lorries and articulated lorries on request. Please send us all the details by e-mail. Or use our contact form.
Do you transport (sea) containers?
We do not transport sea containers.
Do you offer transport by sea freight?
At present, we only offer transport by road and air freight.
Do you transport vehicles (vehicle transfers)?
We do not transfer vehicles, not even with coupling.
Do you also transport by air freight?

Can you ship to islands or overseas?
Yes, but these lanes are excluded from the prices in the price calculator. Please also note that there are usually additional costs for tunnels/ferries. As these costs fluctuate and depend on the time of booking as well as the season, we can only inform you about these costs after you have placed your binding order and the situation has been reviewed. We are also dependent on the availability of the crossings on these routes. In the event of storms or a lack of capacity on the part of the ferry operators, delivery may be delayed. In any event, we will inform you promptly about the planned schedule.
Do you transport parcels?
We are not a parcel service, but we can also transport parcels. This is ideal for particularly valuable, urgent or sensitive goods. Please use our price calculator to calculate the price.
Can you pick up and deliver in/from abroad?
This is possible in any event. Our price calculator currently covers most European countries as well as Switzerland. Use it to get an easy and fast quotation. Please note that, depending on the lane, different payloads per vehicle may apply. Transportation to third countries is also possible in principle, but we currently only offer customs clearance to Switzerland. If you wish to transport to a third country and arrange customs clearance yourself, we will be happy to find a suitable solution for you.
The driver had to wait. What costs are involved?
In principle, a waiting time of up to 60 minutes is always free and is also taken into account in planning. Should longer waiting times occur, the costs will be between €30 and € 60 an hour or part thereof, depending on the type of vehicle. To avoid waiting times, we will automatically notify you of the registration number. We are also happy to notify you of arrival in advance free of charge. All we need for this is an appropriate contact person with a telephone number.
You have a wide range of vehicles to choose from, from caddy to lorry. The possible load area ranges from 170 cm x 110 cm x 120 cm up to 610 cm x 245 cm x250 cm. The possible payload ranges from 600 kg up to 2,140 kg. You can find more information in our price calculator.

In principle, your shipment may be as long as the load area of the booked vehicle. According to Section 22 StVO [German road traffic regulations], the goods may protrude out of the back of the vehicle up to 1.50 m (with appropriate marking) – for short distances (within 100 km) even up to 3 m. Since we cannot combine your freight in such a case, we offer you an upgrade for overhang for our curtainsiders and lorries.

Lifting platforms can be booked as an upgrade for the curtainsiders and lorries. These vehicles also automatically always have a pallet jack on board. Please note the reduced payload and load capacity of vehicles with lifting platform.
Can you transport dangerous goods (ADR) possible?
Yes, that’s possible. We differentiate between dangerous goods under 1,000 ADR points and dangerous goods over 1,000 ADR points.
Dangerous goods under 1,000 ADR points can be transported if you choose the upgrade with the following vehicles: van, curtainsider and lorry.
Dangerous goods over 1,000 ADR points can be transported if you choose the lorry upgrade.
In any event, please inform us in writing of at least the UN number as well as the dangerous goods class when placing your order or straight afterwards. Ideally, you should send us the safety data sheets and the weight.
What do I need to consider when transporting to trade fairs?
Deliveries at trade fairs are no problem for our trained STEX driving personnel. When placing an order, please make sure that all the typical, relevant details are given. These are usually always the following: hall, stand, contact person with telephone number. It is also usually a good idea to order a vehicle with a lifting platform and pallet truck so that the driver can load and unload by himself. Some trade fair organisers also offer a forklift truck on site which can do this. As this varies from trade fair to trade fair, please find out if this is the case beforehand.
I need customs clearance for my shipment to Switzerland!
If you are shipping goods to or from Switzerland, you can also ask us to carry out customs clearance. Of course, you can also handle the customs clearance yourself and specify the border crossing.
What do I have to think about when transporting refrigerated goods?
Please inform us of the desired temperature range for refrigerated shipment. As the goods are permanently cooled, it is very important to optimise the precise pick-up and delivery times; this also minimises your costs. Refrigerated transport services can only be selected with the following vehicle types: caddy and van.
What do I have to think about when transporting with lifting platforms?
The lifting platform is as wide as the vehicle and has a maximum lifting capacity of 600 kg per package. In the case of vehicles with lifting platform, a reduced maximum payload applies due to the vehicle’s own weight. Goods can be transported at ground level by means of a lifting platform and pallet jack, which means that this requires short distances at ground level or an appropriately large goods lift.
What do I have to think about in the case of an overhang?
The overhang option lets you to send goods that are longer than the vehicle chosen. Since the goods therefore stick out of the back of the vehicle, they may be exposed to the weather (rain, snow). The packaging of the goods should be chosen with these circumstances in mind.
I need a vehicle with ramp capability.
Our lorry is suitable for ramps (110 cm ramp height). The curtainsider and van have a loading height of 70 cm to 90 cm – depending on the type of vehicle.
